Overview of TVET
The Department of Human Resources was established under the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources in 2003. It has subsumed the mandates and functions of the erstwhile National Technical Training Authority (NTTA) with the additional responsibility of the private corporate sector HRD.

The Department works towards its mission to achieve a globally competitive workforce for a cohesive society and secure economic future for all citizens through the provisions of policies and programs on Technical Vocational Education and Training and Human Resource Development Activities.
About TTI Khuruthang
The Khuruthang Institute of Electrical Engineering was established from the bifurcation of the Royal Technical Institute and relocated from the Rinchhending campus in Phuentsholing, to the present campus in Khuruthang in May 2003. The Khuruthang Institute of Electrical Engineering is under the Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. Institute is located in the Khuruthang town beside the Puna Tsangchu adding aesthetic beauty to the campus and good learning environment for the trainees. Facing the main gate, just 30m away is the Khuruthang Lhakhang blessing the inmates in the campus. The bus stand, Post Office and the Bank are at walking distance from the institute.
It is generally accepted as an essential norm of the socio economic set up carved out by man from time immemorial, that every head of the family who is solicitous about his family members does all that is within his capabilities to provide adequately for the prosperity of each and every member of his family.
About TTI Samthang
The institute is ideally located 4 kms away from Khuruthang town towards wangduephodrang after crossing the Khuru Kuenphen Zam and 5 kms away from Bajo town following the Shengana road. The institute campus can be directly viewed from Mitsina and is blessed with the historical Talo Dzong and Chhimi Lhakhang which lies directly opposite to the Institute.
Beside the modern development, the winter migration of the ducks can be encountered starting the late October till the early April every year.
The Institute today is headed by Mr. Sangay Wangchuk supported by well experienced 24 national staffs and an Indian counterpart Instructor on Chiphel Rigphel Project. It provides boarding facilities to the trainees along with a stipend of Nu. 1500 per month.
Currently the mechanic courses are provisionally accredited by Department of Standard and the driving course will be accredited this semester. The institute is rated grade "B" by the Department.
About TTI Thimphu
engineering was established in 2008 under the Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human resource to provide Automobile related training to the school leavers and the unemployed youth in the country. The graduates are employed in various organizations and employment rate is 100% so far.
Since the numbers of vehicles are increasing year after year the demands for trained Automobile technicians have also significantly increased and a large number of vacanciesuntitled.jpg have emerged in the automobile service sector in the recent past.
The institute does not provide accommodation but the trainees are paid Nu.1800/- per month as stipend during the training period for those trainees who are recruited through the selection interview by the Department of Human Resource.
About TTI Chumey
Chumey Institute of Civil Engineering (CICE) was established in the year 2006 at Domkhar, Chumey, under Bumthang Dzongkhag. The institute is located bordering the national high way about 242 KM from national capital Thimphu. The CICE is one of the six technical training institutes under the direction administration of the Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources.
The institute offers certificate courses in five different construction fields (carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, house wiring and welding) . Basic IT course is provided to all trainees. The total duration for all courses are two (2) years, consisting of four semesters and 3 months on-the-job training in industries in the fourth semester. The minimum qualification required for the admission to undergo in any of the occupation is class x passed. The institute has a total capacity of maximum 288 trainees; however, presently the institute has only 168 trainees.
About TTI Sershong
Technical Training Institute Serzhong is one among the six Technical Training Institutes (TTIs) is located in Sarpang, Dzongkhag under the Ministry of Labour & Human Resources (MoLHR). It was established in 1st February 2007 with the vision to focus the center of excellence in civil engineering courses including Welding (mechanical) and electrical engineering, upholstery and design courses.
At present, the institute is headed by the Mr. Lobzang Dorji as the Principal along with other seventeen (17) teaching faculty and twelve (12) non-teaching staff totaling twenty nine, (29).
Technical Training Institute, Serzhong is located 12 KM away from Gelephu main town to check point leading toward Trongsa highway. From the check point it is further diverted 3 km following the feeder road towards vicinity to Serzhong village making it 15 km.???

Technical Training Institute - Rangjung which was initially known as Rangjung Vocational Training Institute, popularly as VTI, is one of the six Technical Training Institutes in the country administered by the Ministry of Labour & Human Resources through the Department of Human Resources. About IZC Tashiyangtse
VISION: To be the centre of excellence for Zorig Chusum in the kingdom.
MISSION: To preserve, promote and revive the dying arts and crafts through research and able to transfer the professional skills to the youth for better employment.
OBJECTIVE: The Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts ) under the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources was established in June 1997 at Trashiyangtse, eastern Bhutan. It is one of the two institutes in the country that provides training in the 13 aspects of traditional arts and crafts or zorig Chusum.
The Institute provides two types of training: 1. Ranging from 1 to 2 years: It includes skill in lacquering, wood turning, carving, house painting and tailoring. 2. Ranging from 4 to 6 years: The latter 4 year includes carving mask and decorative items, gold and silver smithy, embroidery and tapestry, traditional boot making. While training in Thanka, Kilkhor or Mandala painting and sculpturing or statue making falls under 6 years program.
